The true cost of not having room to fail
Today was a bit of a disaster.
Rewind back to Tuesday. My mentor and I made a last minute decision to move our webinar originally set for Thursday to Saturday. Everyone said ok. I changed all the copy, updated all the links, thought everything settled
Then this morning while sending my daughter to school, my mentor messaged me.
The sign up form? Still showing old date and time 🤦♂️
Meaning people clicking ads to register for Saturday's webinar were seeing a form for an event that already "passed".
USD400 ad money gone just like that.
Stupid mistake right?
But amidst that regret and disappointment, I found a measure of gratitude. Because we were able to afford learning from this mistake. In contrast to my previous business, where every small mistake felt deadly.
When I had salary, rental, suppliers, utilities, all running every month, the pressure so much until I couldn't think straight, couldn't plan properly, didn't dare to test new ideas, scared to experiment. Every day was just firefighting mode.
Now? I operate on a totally different model. No rental. No salary. No stocks to hold.
Without the weight of overheads, I feel the room to breathe and improve.
That USD400 mistake? Consider it as school fees la. Next time confirm won't happen again.
This is why I'm so passionate about teaching people how to build businesses properly.
Want to know my framework for building a business that:
Gives you room to learn
Allows you to test ideas
Won't kill you if you make mistakes
Actually lets you sleep at night
