I lost RM200k and finally found my voice
The energy you use to hide your failures is the exact energy you need to deliver your message.
I've always been an extrovert.
Eight years on YouTube. Hundreds of videos. Talking is my thing.
Stage fright? Not really my problem lah.
But last weekend, standing in front of 20 people at a speaker training, I realized something painful...
I could talk. But I couldn't MOVE people.
You know those speakers who command the room? Who take you on a journey? Make you laugh, cry, and ready to charge through walls?
Yeah. That wasn't me.
I was just... babbling. Words coming out, but no real impact.
For two days, this intensive training pushed me hard. Not the usual "speak louder, gesture bigger" nonsense.
They forced me to confront why my message felt weak.
The answer? I was performing. Acting powerful while hiding my failures.
Pretending I had it all figured out while RM200k in losses haunted me. Playing successful while remembering how I let my wife down. Talking about business growth while owing money to partners.
The mask was exhausting. And everyone could feel it.
Then came the moment that changed everything.
The trainer asked: "What are you most ashamed of?"
I could've given a safe answer. Some small failure that wouldn't hurt too much.
Instead, something inside me snapped.
"I lost RM200k. Failed my family. Owe people money. My wife had to pay for groceries while I built castles in the sky. My parents don't even know how bad it got."
The words tumbled out. Raw. Ugly. True.
The room went silent.
When I continued speaking - about rebuilding, about helping other dads avoid my mistakes - the energy shifted.
No more babbling. Every word had weight.
No more performing. Just truth.
No more weakness. Just power.
The energy you use to hide your failures is the exact energy you need to deliver your message.
When you're managing your image, monitoring your mask, maintaining your facade...
That's bandwidth stolen from serving your audience.
But when you drop the act? When you own your whole story?
Suddenly you have 100% of your power available.
Your message sharpens. Your presence expands. Your impact multiplies.
Not because you're perfect. Because you're REAL.
Our wounds aren't weaknesses to hide. They're weapons to wield in service of others.
I want to share the complete framework I learned - not just the vulnerability piece, but the entire system for commanding any room.
Tomorrow (10 June 2025), I'm running a free 1-hour webinar:
"From Camera Comfort to Stage Command: My Charisma Academy Evolution"
You'll discover:
How to structure vulnerability for impact, not pity
The exact framework for turning wounds into wisdom
No charge. Just real talk about real transformation.

Sometimes the thing we're most ashamed of is exactly what qualifies us to lead.
Always cheering you on,
